6-Series Facelift + Diesel

Everyone knows the BMW 6 Series coupe and convertible are good to drive, but would you want to wake up to that face every morning? Perhaps it's an indelicate question to ask at this price, but when you see the nose on the 2008 6 Series, you have your answer.

The front end is sleeker, and your eyes naturally follow the progression from A-pillars to grille, as opposed to honing in on the hood cutlines. Along with wider air intakes, reshaped headlight units aid in the viewing experience, and they are of course bi-xenon. All other light sources on the car (turn signals, taillights) are LEDs.

After addressing the vanity angle, BMW turned to more substantive and serious matters. To reduce fuel consumption and associated gratuitious guilt, all 2008 BMW 6s have a regenerative braking system and a separate clutch for the air conditioning system's belt drive (which shuts the compressor off immediately when the driver switches to A/C off). For those who prefer not to pay attention when they drive, the stability control system is now in communication with the adaptive cruise control system to enable immediate emergency braking. And of course there's a lane departure warning system, which will send a vibration through the steering wheel if you doze off.

If we lived in Europe, we'd also be talking about the new 635d model, whose twin-turbo diesel 3.0-liter inline six rivals BMW's twin-turbo gasoline six for performance while returning even better mileage. But we don't so we're not.

That above and a 635d badge in the back and what else could one expect from the new 6er...

Re: 6-Series Facelift + Diesel

I dunno, maybe a new designer???

What is the difference with the old one please? The front is the same, sad and bulbous... Maybe a bit less lines crossing from nowhere to nowhere maybe, but that's all...

Re: 6-Series Facelift + Diesel

You don't change much something that already looks perfect!

j/k

I have the same problem with 6er's face since day one; that sad look. More aggressive touch on the front would do miracle to this car...

STOP!
I found the difference.

It now has two machine-guns in the lower air-intake

No, no, you're wrong... That's to prevent from running over your @$$ during night while you're drunk driving a bicycle on curvy roads...

Aa yes, ok, a special "beware, drunked coolraoul" camera! Very pleased...

I thought it was to shot you out of the road when you were trying to blast in the straight line...
