Not everyone can afford a Gt3, to be honest its a huge pricedifference therefore an EVO is a good choice if you want a track car but cant afford a Gt3.
Also there are all kind of modifications for your EVO. Im not an EVO guru and I would choose a RS4 or a Carrera over EVO but there is many tuning options for your EVO. One Japanese dude took an EVO close to 8 minutes around Nordschleife and how many cars in that pricerange can do so. Underestimating a car is always dangerous.
