Looking to 7er's and Touareg's similar rearlight layout I have some ideas something was going on between BMWAG and VAG.
These layouts are similar, the one of pre-FL Z4 & Concept R (shape + Jetta/Golf (two circles) also, the E90 pre-production rearlights were similar to FL A4 rearlights, 1er and VW Fox have similar graphics.
I've found these similarities very odd.
