Compared to the now-old Sequoia this new one is definitely an improvement in terms of exterior design. At least it has a relative amount of cohesion and flow with its design - something I feel the old Sequoia didn't really have.
To answer your question monster, in a pure dimensional comparison the Sequoia and Land Cruiser would probably be very similar, maybe the Sequoia even beinga tad longer. But unlike the Land Cruiser which has a more 'muscular and beefy' look, the Sequoia is pretty much just a larger Highlander in terms of the overall stance.
In my eyes, this new Sequoia has more of a 'Infiniti QX' look to it. The dominating grille (the grille extending above the line of the lights), as well as the look of the mouth. Also having the doors outlined and the lack of wheel arch add-on moulding like older Toyota's.
I'd still pick the Infiniti QX for looks...
As for the interior.. I'm with monster...the dual centre-console ain't pretty. Check the cup-holders in the rear row. The comfort and width of those seats seem to have been sacrificed for them cupholders.
Ah well, overall a good effort by Toyota USA. I look forward to seeing this new Sequoia on my next trip to the States in a matter of weeks
