| Re: Honda CR-Z Concept @ 2007 Tokyo Auto Show Honda confirms production car based on CR-Z concept for 2009 We already told you that Honda will build a production version of its FCX hydrogen fuel cell car, set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November and crop up in showrooms sometime in 2008. Now we have confirmation that Honda has also greenlighted a production car based on its CR-Z Concept, shown at the Tokyo Motor Show this week, for 2009.
In a recent interview with Motor Trend Editor-in-Chief Angus MacKenzie in Tokyo, Honda CEO Takeo Fukui let it be known that Honda is developing a new range of hybrids for 2009, but the CR-Z Concept was not mentioned specifically. It is clear now that one of those upcoming hybrids will in fact be based on the recent concept vehicle, just as MacKenzie speculated.
