Resurrecting the Horch marque is an idea which pops up every now and then in the automotive press. At one point they were quite sure VW group was about to do just that.

Nope, August Horch founded both Horch and Audi. Before that he worked for Karl Benz. He fell into some sort of dispute with the people at Horch, left the company and set up a new company. First he tried to use the name Horch Automobil-Werke but since the old company still owned the rights to the Horch name, he latinized the name into Audi.
