I've also noticed that the C220 CDI in Classic trim level is a bit loud when you start it up. I've driven the W203 C200 CDI (same engine as the C220 CDI) Classic and this is immediately apparent. On the Elegance C220 CDI, I get the feeling that there is more sound absorbing material inside the engine compartment, as the same engine is more quiet in this car. Baffling why MB just doesn't do this on the Classic models.
