I don't think this necessarily does Rolls-Royce any harm.

Rolls-Royce is a unique brand in many ways. No other car brand stirs as many connotations or metaphors in the imaginations of the popular culture. Rolls-Royces may be very expensive and exclusive but they are as much a part of global pop culture as Coca Cola and McDonald's.

These mods may be kitsch, but so are the real things. Rolls-Royce is a fantasy, it's more than a car, it's a culture, a poetic idea of a glamorous lifestyle that is open to a myriad of interpretations.

I think the people who created these mods are really just expressing that desire to live the kind of fantasy life Rolls-Royce symbolizes and yet very few people really live.
