Re: *Little Sedan BATTLE* (C-class, A4, 3 series...)!

I dont know why people think its so odd that there are little to no votes for the japs and yanks... I mean, it is GERMANcarzone...der? The truth is all of these are great -and perhaps the industry is stronger and better than its ever been-so all we can do is take slight differences and key on those-because there is very little that seperates them.

1. 3 series: This car wins in my book because of its incredible chassis, steering feel, and powerplant line up. Its simply the best in those categories. I wouldnt argue that its the best looking here, but i would say that it does look good. Its obvious that Bangle and his boys put alot of time in designing this thing-good looking enough to make a statement-but not over done with tacky chrome arrangements and silly grills. Part of its popularity is due to its brand name-but its obvious that this thing has developed a great reputation because its been perfected generation after generation-and it would be impossible to argue that the 3 series isnt the king of this segment.

2. C class. The styling on this car is the best. Its beautiful in almost every angle-and it has grown on me immensely. The only thing that holds me back is its seemingly outdated engine line. Merc should of introduced new engines while bringing this car out to the market. You cant stand still in this segment-BMW cant either. So once Merc gets new engines that compete well with the competition I could swing favor towards it-however by that time the 3 series will have had a full on face lift-im assuming. But from the reviews ive read, its a fabulous drive, and a great package overall-a bit pricy though.

3. IS350. As much as i dont like the lexus/yota company, i will admit that this car gave the germans a bit of a worry. It handles well, it supposedly drives nice, and bigolly its fast-almost as fast as the 335i. In fact according to R&T, it pulls a 0-60 in 4.9 and a querter mile in 13.5 vs, the 3 series 5.0 and 13.4 time... not bad lexus. Of course those stats arent important but they do hint at the fact that this thing is ready to compete with the germans. The looks are ok, front is nice-back not so much, but the interior looks like cheese...

4. The A4. This is a very handsome car but its old-way too old. The engines are weak compared to the competition and the styling is bit last generation BMWish. Of course it has great quality and a great AWD system but that aint enough right now. Cant wait for the B8...

5. G35. In some ways i like this car better than the IS because its more purposeful and the handling is supposed to be a bit better, but ive heard that the transmission is terible on this thing. Im assuming they will take care of that with the upcoming G37, but who knows..

6. CTS-ive heard good things. Supposedly it has a good ride and nice driving characteristics but honestly i coudnt get excited about this car. snor...

7. The lincoln....Nice jeff .
uhhh, well this car is probably ok-i havent actually heard anything about it, but personally the styling is a bit off for my taste. New designs are leaning towards progressive while this thing mocks A4 styling (shoulder line and head lights) while adding silly chrome bits here and there. The interior is nice but oudated in more ways than one as well. This would have been a class leader a while ago-perhaps in the late 90's....

8. oh yea forgot about the acura...fwd is a disease. Im guessing the lincoln suffers from the same ailment. But this thing looks a bit worse than the Lincoln imo.
