Seriously. If I get a job w/ one of the German big 3 in their marketing dept. I'll for sure look into stepping up some of the advertising in periodicals like newspapers. Newspaper can be one of the most effective marketing tools for three reasons: 1) It's easily accessible, and 2) It's dirt cheap 3) they're everywhere in HUGE circulation.
