Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" I see this as a possible Concept “There always must be space for improvement,” is the only answer we could coax from 1-series project leader Gerd Schuster about the probability of a high-performance M1 version of the 1-series. But we have reason to believe an M1 is in the works with a twin-turbo four-cylinder. It won’t necessarily have more horsepower than the 135i, but with sharper reactions and a lighter body and engine, the M1 would clearly be king of the compact-car segment. ------------------ My dream scenario ![]() Highreeving (+8000 rpm) 330-350 hp - 100 kg less than standard 135i Very wide fenders

Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" I spoke to a guy from bmw which is pretty high up the ladder. He would not confirm the M version of the 1 when i asked him. But he didn t denied either with a smile. So we still have to wait. Lets hope tokyo brings more answers

It might have sharper reactions and lighter body and it would propably be the king of compact car segment but I doubt everything said about the engine. | |

Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" Today's official press release by BMW (about Tokyo highlights) says nothing about any concept. Neither about X6 ActiveHybrid. But ... Since they've already confirmed X6 ActiveHybrid Tokyo appearence (in a previous PR) I assume a special PR on Tokyo BMW Concept highlights may be issued in the next days. ![]()

Re: "1ntensified Performance Orientation" I really really hope we get some special M version off the einser. After seeing some movies from the 135i on track i am not convinced. On track you can see the weight the car carries. And it isn t pushed hard already. I buy a smaller bmw because its nimbler carries less weight but i loose cabin space for it. No problem if i get a car that brings very good handling. But if i buy a smaller car loose cabin space and i still have a heavy car why buy a 1 series coupe then. 335i is only 40kg heavier. At 1350kg i would buy a 135i. Not at almost 1600kg.
